Tom has hosted and produced marketing conferences focused on new trends in marketing and communication in London, Madrid, Dubai, Johannesburg, Athens and Geneva. A veteran of 25+ years in advertising and marketing, he has a passion for what technology brings to interactive marketing and how consumers and marketers benefit from new forms of communication.
Having begun his career in New York with the advertising agency Ted Bates & Co., the company that original coined the expression, (if not the concept), of the unique selling proposition or U.S.P, Tom has worked both B2C and B2B marketing and advertising. His professional experience includes work with IBM, Mars Confectionery, Mars Petfoods, Colgate-Palmolive, Coty Prestige, Caterpillar, NBC TV, Dow Chemical, Mobile Chemical, Bristol-Myers, Fisher-Price, Lego, ABB International, World Scouting Organization, Penthouse Magazine, Sheraton Hotels, Volkswagen Skoda, Tuborg, Benson & Hedges, and Olivetti to name a few.
During the years of the first internet boom, he left the large agency networks and founded 2 successful internet companies in the areas of online software sales and translation & service management.
He is very active in direct to consumer e-commerce development as well as e-retailing in all forms. Originally from the US, he's been working in Europe for more than 20 years having lived and worked in London, Paris, Brussels, Milan, Madrid and Zurich.
He currently lives in Geneva, Switzerland with wife Hilde and 3 children; speaking French, Italian, Spanish together with a smattering of Dutch and German in addition to his native American English.
