Tony Amrich is Head of Social at Virgin America, the California-based airline making flying fun again. Known in the industry as “The Guest Whisperer" he developed a winning process that delights customers through brand marketing and customer communications. Tony is one of the pioneers of social guest service, recognizing early on the power of social media to respond in real-time to customers, even at 35,000ft.
He led the social strategy for a number of highly-acclaimed Virgin America campaigns including its viral #vxsafetydance video – with over 11 million views on YouTube, it is one of the most viewed safety videos of all time. He continues to execute hip campaigns utilizing social media trends and communications. Virgin America was recently named one of the most innovative companies of 2015 by Fast Company, “for perfecting customer service for an innovative clientele.”
Tony graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute with an MFA in Conceptual Art, currently resides in East Oakland, California, and can be found @THEmonzie on Twitter. He also makes a mean lasagna.
